JOINT, MUSCULOSKELETAL, AND SPORTS INJURY CARE
Platelet-rich plasma therapy is based on the science behind the body’s natural healing response, when you injure yourself and damage the soft tissue, platelet cells are the body’s first healing response. Regen Medical Centers offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to treat soft tissue injuries and improve chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
PRP therapy involves an injection containing highly concentrated levels of platelets that enhance the body’s natural healing process by stimulating blood flow and the creation of new blood cells, regenerating soft tissue, and repairing damaged tissues. This treatment is often used to improve and treat joint, musculoskeletal, and sports-related injuries. PRP therapy has been used to effectively treat conditions like ACL injuries, rotator-cuff tears, tendonitis, ankle sprains, and osteoarthritis. In some cases, PRP therapy can eliminate the need for surgery or anti-inflammatory steroids.

What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy?
PRP therapy is an autologous, regenerative treatment derived from the patient’s own blood. It can be used to repair damaged soft tissues, stimulate blood flow, and enhance the body’s natural healing process by increasing the platelet count in the treated area.
Platelet-rich plasma is created by drawing a small amount of blood from the patient and then using a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the rest of the components of the blood. The high concentration of platelets is then recombined with the patient’s blood. Once the PRP is ready, it is re-injected into the patient in the designated treatment area and begins the regeneration and rejuvenation process. This treatment encourages healing on a cellular level.
Platelet-rich plasma therapy can improve soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries by reducing inflammation and enhancing the body’s natural healing response. The platelets found in PRP contain growth factors with regenerative properties that work to repair damaged tissues and stimulate blood flow in the treated area.
Conditions PRP therapy can be used to treat include
- Back pain
- Elbow, wrist, and/or hand injuries
- Knee pain
- Sports injuries
Am I a candidate?
Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a safe and effective treatment option for most patients. There is virtually no risk of adverse reaction to PRP therapy because it is derived from your own blood. Depending on the severity of their condition, some patients may benefit more from combination therapy involving PRP therapy and another treatment option. Our expert staff will review your specific case and medical history and recommend the appropriate treatment plan for you.
When can I expect results?
Most patients will experience a noticeable improvement in the treated area about four weeks following treatment, but some patients may notice an improvement in as little as two weeks following a treatment session. Patients can experience improvement in the treated area for three months and longer. Results may vary depending on your diagnosis.
