Botox Cosmetic

Fine lines and wrinkles can sneak up on you quickly. But just as quickly, you can reduce their appearance. That’s the magic of Botox® Cosmetic. Botox® is ideal for people who are just starting to notice those signs of aging, and want to do something non-surgical about it. Botox® temporarily reduces wrinkles around the eyes, wrinkles between the eyebrows, and wrinkles in the forehead—for both men and women. It is fast, safe, and effective. In fact, Botox® is the original treatment for wrinkles, approved by the FDA in 2002. We’re also the first in the area to offer Xeomin—a new FDA alternative to Botox. It works in the same way as Botox, but is slightly less expensive.

How Botox® Works

Injecting Botox® (or botulinum toxin) into your muscles weakens them. So, when we inject just a small amount directly into the facial muscles that cause frowning, it blocks the nerve signals, relaxing those muscles (basically “freezing” them). If the muscle can’t contract, it can’t produce a wrinkle. The injections only take about 10 minutes, and there is no downtime or recovery.

Getting the Best Botox® Results

One treatment can make a remarkable improvement, and your results can last between three and four months—sometimes longer, depending on the patient. You’ll get the best, most consistent results when you set up a regular treatment schedule with the doctor. Remember, Botox® only affects the muscles that cause frowning. It can’t target the static wrinkle lines that aren’t caused by muscle contractions. That’s the territory of other treatments, such as Radiesse® and Juvéderm® and the CO2 anti-aging laser.
